Welcome to Direct Democracy Global Maldives

A platform for social dialogue, evidence-based solutions, and sustainable policy development in the Maldives.

About DDGM

Direct Democracy Global Maldives (DDGM) is a private NGO dedicated to addressing social concerns and finding evidence-based solutions through social dialogue to promote peace and harmony in the Maldives. Though we collaborate routinely with parliament members, politicians, lawyers, doctors, and intellectuals in the Maldives on a voluntary basis, our home operations are based in Geneva, Switzerland.

Our advocacy work is research-based, as we identify the root causes of conflicts and analyze the cause and effect of actions by relevant stakeholders. Our focus is mainly on social, cultural, economic, environmental, financial, technological, and civil concerns, and we hold a zero-tolerance policy towards unjust, unfair, and biased prejudice.

Our Mission

At DDGM, we provide a platform to engage in social dialogue for tangible results. Our participants aim to raise awareness among the public regarding numerous social and economic matters. We provide a platform whereby individuals from different backgrounds can discuss and propose comprehensive solutions to issues at hand. The input received from different stakeholders and general members of the public is imperative. We aim to use this to influence policymaking and support sustainable and equitable public policies.
